How to move the nodes between Cloudtrax accounts, sites, physical locations?

Move the nodes into a NEW Cloudtrax network

If you want to move the nodes to a different Cloudtrax network you have 2 possibilities:

With our help

We can move your nodes between 2 different Cloudtrax network provided by us. Please contact us and provide us:

  • the Cloudtrax Network ID of the ORIGIN network (e.g. nvzits_1001).
  • the Cloudtrax Network ID of the DESTINATION network.
  • the list of nodes that you want to move.

We will transfer the nodes in few minutes.

We can not help you to trasfer the nodes from your personal Cloudtrax network to a Cloudtrax network provided by us.

By yourself

  1. Login into the OLD network using the Cloudtrax dashboard. Please supply the credentials contained in the Accuware Activation email and press the Login button
  2. Select Manage > Access points
  3. Click on List
  4. Select the Action button for the first node of the table and click on Delete.
  5. Repeat this Step 4 for all the nodes in the network.
  6. Logout
  7. Login into the NEW network using the Cloudtrax dashboard.

  11. Repeat this Step 10 for all the nodes that you want to add

Move the nodes into a NEW Accuware site

In order to move the nodes to a different Accuware site, first of all you need to move the nodes to the NEW Cloudtrax network as explained in the previous section “Move the nodes into NEW Cloudtrax network“.

Once the nodes have been moved from the OLD Cloudtrax network to the NEW Cloudtrax network you can go ahead and move the nodes from the OLD Accuware site to the NEW Accuware site by following these steps:

  1. Login to the first site using the Accuware dashboard.
  2. Select WiFi Loc Monitor > Nodes.
  3. Click on the first node you want to remove and then click Delete node.
  4. Repeat Step 4 for all the nodes in the network.
  5. Logout.
  6. Login to the NEW Accuware site using the Accuware dashboard.
  7. Select WiFi Loc Monitor > Nodes.
  8. Click on the map to create new nodes.

Repeat this Step 8 for all the nodes that you want to add.

Move the nodes into a NEW location (same Accuware site)

If you want to move your nodes into a NEW physical location (e.g. a new test location or a production location), you don’t need to do any change to your Cloudtrax network because the Cloudtrax dashboard is not at all involved in the positioning. This is why the nodes can be left as-is in the old location of the Cloudtrax network and this won’t affect the locations returned by Accuware Wi-Fi Location Monitor.

Pleas read: before proceeding with the instructions below we strongly suggest to:

  1. create a NEW level using the General > Levels section of the Accuware dashboard.
  2. choose a reference system for the NEW location by following the instructions in this page.

If the 2 locations ARE NOT close each other

Here the steps you need to follow in order to move the nodes to another location:

  2. Select WiFi Loc Monitor > Nodes.
  3. Click on the first node you want to remove and then click Delete node.
  4. Repeat Step 5 for all the nodes in the account.
  5. Select General > Sites, click on Edit Site and change the Site Address field according to the new location.
  6. Logout
  7. Login again into the Accuware Wi-Fi Location Monitor dashboard (this is useful to refresh the dashboard parameters).
  8. Select WiFi Loc Monitor > Nodes.
  9. Select the new level by using the menu in the top-right corner of the map.
  10. Click on the map to add each one of the nodes.
