What are the differences between the TRACKING and NAVIGATION modes of Indoors?

Should I choose TRACKING or NAVIGATION mode? The choice depends on the objective of your project. Here is a short guide to help you with the choice:

  • TRACKING: this mode should be chosen if the objective of your project is to track remotely:
    • Android smartphones/tablets/smartwatches, Android Combo Tags, Accuware Smart Tags that will be equipped with the Wearabouts App.
    • Android and/or iOS smartphones/tablets/smartwatches that will be equipped with your App compiled using the Accuware Indoor SDK.
    • any smartphone/tablet/smartwatch (different from Android/iOS) that will be equipped with your App that will makes use of the Accuware Indoor API.
    • any embedded device with a WiFi and/or Bluetooth chip that will be equipped with a firmware that will make use of the Accuware Indoor API.
  • NAVIGATION: this mode should be chosen if the objective of your project is to provide navigation to people that are carrying Android and iOS smartphones/tablets/smartwatches that will be equipped with your App compiled using the Accuware Indoor SDK. If you want also to track remotely these devices you have to develop on your side a small function to send the location computed locally by the Accuware engine to your server.
